Transparency report
How many legal demands for customer data we have received, by year and by the type of authority that sent them.
This page counts every production order, subpoena, preservation demand and other legal process we have received asking for customer data. Each one is recorded in an internal register on the day it arrives, and the counts below come directly from that register.
Only counts are published. The page never shows the identity of an authority, the wording of a demand, what was produced in response, or which accounts were named — those details exist only in the internal register.
Where a count is below 3 but not zero, it is shown as <3 rather than an exact number. A single demand in a narrow category could identify the person it concerned. A count of zero is always published as zero.

How a demand is handled
Every demand is recorded on the day it arrives, before any substantive work, with the issuing authority, what was asked for, and any deadline.
The scope is narrowed to the minimum records that answer the demand. Each narrowing is written to an append-only audit trail, so how a demand was reduced can be reviewed afterwards.
Counsel reviews the authority, the scope and the response before anything leaves the platform. There is no automated path that can answer a demand.
Our default is to notify the person whose data was sought. Notification is withheld only where a non-disclosure order or statute bars it, and the reason is recorded either way.
Register entries are kept for seven years. The records produced in response are not stored in the register, and working copies are deleted once the response is made.
